Frances Marion Keegan, 89, of Doon, Iowa died Thursday, May 15, 1997, at her residence.
Services were Monday at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Rock Valley, Iowa, with the Father Frank Higgens officiating. Burial was in Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
Mrs. Keegan was born Feb. 16, 1908, in Doon, the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Solon) Mann. She graduated from Doon High School in 1926.
She married John J. Keegan on Nov. 5, 1929, in Alvord, Iowa. The couple lived in Doon. She was employed as a cook at Pete's Steakhouse for many years. He died March 1, 1970. Frances continued living at Doon where she enjoyed, playing cards, crocheting, cooking, and most of al!, her family and friends. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Alvord and the Doon Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Jack and Carol of Edina, MM, and Bill and Alyce of Scottsdale, AZ; three daughters and their husbands, Janet and Mel Wilton of Enid, OK, Connie and Louis Tysver of Storm Lake, IA, and Mary and Dean Rosenberg of Sioux Falls, SD; a daughter-in-law, Dee Keegan of Doon; two sisters, Florence and her husband Jack Larson of Sioux City and Gertie Nagel of Rock Valley; 30 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Joe and Pat and his wife Mary; a daughter and her husband, Donna and James Breuer; four brothers; and two sisters.
Memorials may be directed to the Lyon County Hospice in Rock Rapids, Iowa.
