Willard G. Peterson, 90, resident of Chippewa Manor Nursing Home, died today (Thursday, August 9, 1990) at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls.
He was born June 28, 1900, in the town of Sigel, to Hannah (Holverson) and John Peterson. He grew up in Sigel.
He married Alvina Ketterhagen June 8, 1926, in Thorp. He farmed in Sigel, and worked as a carpenter, cheesemaker, and woodsman. His wife preceded him in death. He then married Helen Krogman in 1978, in Chippewa Falls. Upon retirement, he moved to Lake Wissota until 1986. He then lived with his daughter Roseanne Green in Cadott. For the past two years he lived in Chippewa Falls.
Survivors include eight sons, Theodore of Trevor, Edward of Cadott, Willard Jr. of Eleva, Gerald of Porterville, Calif., Leonard of Wilmot, James (Donna) of Cadott, Roger (Bertha) of Twin Lakes and Lavern (Sherry) of Merrillan; two daughters, Dorothy (Lavern) Koch of Wilmot, and Rosanne (Jack) Green of Cadott; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and stepchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen; two sons; and two daughters.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Church, Cadott, with Father Thomas Crowley officiating. Burial will be in Brooklawn Cemetery, Cadott.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Leiser Funeral Home.
