Dorothy A. Koch, 83, of rural Oxford and formerly of the town of Wilson, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Villa Pines Living Center.
She was born on July 26, 1928 in the town of Sigel the daughter of the late Willard and Alvina (Ketterhagen) Peterson. Dorothy was raised in the area and graduated from Cadott High School. She married LaVern "Hooky" Koch on Oct. 26, 1947 in Cadott.
Dorothy worked at Victory Memorial Hospital for a few years and then became a cook for Wilmot High School and Wilmot Ski Hill. After retirement she and LaVern moved to the Oxford area and resided there since. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and in later years making candy for the many children in her life.
Dorothy is survived by: her husband of 64 years, LaVern of Oxford; nine children, Gary Koch, Rayne Koch and Jeffery (Vicki) Koch, all of Oxford, Diane Ostrander of Delavan, Lynn (Ross) Castona of Bristol, Cheryl (Dennis) Cohn of Johnsburg, Ill., Denise (Randy) Popp of Lilly Lake and Mark Koch of Whitehall; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Roger (Bertha) Peterson and Leonard Peterson, both of Twin Lakes, Lavern (Sherri) Peterson of Merrillan, and Theodore Peterson and James (Donna) Peterson, both of Cadott.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; and siblings Roseann Green, Marion Bowman, Jerry, Willard, Raymond, Edward, Elizabeth and John Peterson.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 at the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley. Burial will follow in the Edson Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday.
