KEEGAN-HEFFERRAN
St. Mary's church was the scene of a very pretty wedding, Saturday morning at 8:30, when Miss Kathryn Keegan of this vicinity became the bride of Mr. Paul Heffernan of Inwood, Rev. Father A. J. Foerester performed the ceremony.
They were attended by Miss Arleen Keegan of Clinton, Iowa, and Mr. Earl Heffernan of Rock Rapids. The bride was becomingly attired in a white silk crepe ensemble with accessories of white, and carried a bouquet of talisman roses.
The bridesmaid wore a suit of yellow with accessories of white and corsage of rose buds.
The groom and groomsman wore dark suits.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. James Keegan and a graduate of St Mary's school. She has been a successful teacher in Lyon county schools for several years.
Mr. Heffernan is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. Heffernan of Inwood, and is a prominent farmer in that vicinity.
A three course wedding breakfast was served the bridal party and immediate relatives and friends at the Van Nimwegen home.
The happy couple left on an extended trip to eastern points. The bride s going away costume consisted of a rose, crepe ensemble with accessories of brown and white.
Out of town guests included, Mrs. Sadie Phelan, Mr. and Mrs Wm Glasheen, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Phelan, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Vernon, Mr. Lester Phelan, all of Sioux Falls; James Mulhall, Sioux City; Miss Arleen Keegan, Clinton, Iowa; Miss Maude Heffernan, Des Moines; James Smith and son, Vincent, Alvord; Mr and Mrs. Clarence Keegan, Inwood; and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Buckley, of Maurice.

Paul Heffernan Rites Held Mon.
Paul Heffernan, 73, of Rock Valley, died Friday evening, August 7, following a heart attack at his home.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 10, 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Father Richard E. Zenk officiating.
Pallbearers were Robert V. Smith, Ralph Hauser, Cliff Pruitt. Wallace Van Berkum, Neal Vonk and Opkie Niemeyer. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.
Mr. Heffernan was born on February 2, 1897 in Inwood to Con Heffernan and Mary Barry. He married Katherine Keegan on June 16, 1934 in Rock Valley. They farmed in the Inwood araa until two years ago when they moved to Rock Valley.
Survivors are his widow; one son, John Paul (Jerry) of Denver, Colo.; four daughters, Mrs. Marvin Chamberlain of White River, S.D., Mrs. Robert Baker of Scotland, S.D., Miss Jean Heffernan of Yankton and Miss Patricia Heffernan at home; one brother, Walter of Des Moines; two sisten. Miss Maude Heffernan of Des Moines, and Miss Frances Heffernan of Sioux Falls; 13 grandchildren.
