Theresa J. "Terry" Rossmiller, age 87, of Burlington, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at Kindred Nursing & Rehab in Burlington. Terry was born on April 15, 1925 in Burlington, to the late Bernard and Helen (nee Wolf) Ahler. She had been a lifetime resident of Burlington and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. On May 1, 1947 at St. Mary’s Church in Burlington, Terry was married to Everett H. Rossmiller. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. Everett preceded Terry in death on December 24, 1968. Terry worked as a secretary for Murphy Products, AMPI and First Banking Center. She had also worked the cosmetic counter at Jackson’s Drug Store and Tobin's Drug Store. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Burlington Ukulele Band. Terry was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as past Unit President and past State Sgt of Arms from 1974 to 1975. She was known for her love of baking.
Survivors include her loving son, Tom (Sue) Rossmiller of Burlington, grandchildren; Shea and Bryce Rossmiller, of Burlington, siblings; Charles (Mary) Ahler of Michigan and Monica (Harry) Miller of Milwaukee, other relatives and many friends. Terry was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers; Gerard Ahler and Robert "Bob" Ahler Sr. and by a sister, Bernadine Nelson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. James Volkert officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Memorials have been suggested to the WI Lions Foundation to be used in the Hearing Center.
