FORT ATKINSON
Walter H. Vos, 58, of Highway C, Route l, a Fort Atkinson businessman, died Monday in Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born March 8, 1922, in Springfield, he graduated from St Mary's High School in Burlington and attended Marquette University, Milwaukee. A World War II Army veteran, he married Dolores Ketterhagen on June 19, 1946, in Waterford. He owned and operated the Sentry Food stores in Fort Atkinson and Waupun.
He was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church, the Mother of Perpetual Health Council No. 3396, Knights of Columbus, the Paul Frank Florine Post No. 166, American Legion, the board of directors of the Bank of Fort Atkinson, and the retail division of the Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Kenneth of Waupun and James of Fort Atkinson; a daughter, Mrs Jon Draves of Fort Atkinson; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Carrie David of Burlington; and a brother, Donald of Gainesville, Ga.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with burial in Lakeview Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
