Hildegarde A. 'Hilde' Robers, 82, died Thursday, December 31, 2009, following a car accident. She was born March 17, 1927, at home in Walworth County to Theodore and Hattie (nee Cropp) Wolf. She grew up in Racine County and attended Rochester Ag School. On June 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Roger Frost. He preceded her in death in September 1963. On July 28, 1973, she married Richard Robers at Rochester Congregational Church. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. Hilde was a dairy farmer and homemaker. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Secret Dozen. She enjoyed bowling, golfing and loving her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Dick Robers of Burlington; children, Ken (Barb) Frost of Muncie, Ind., Sandy Murray of Missoula, Mont., Cindy (Rich) Richardson of Texas, Holly (Mike) Kulbacki of Lake Geneva, Deb (Scott) Lancour of Burlington, Rick (Connie) Robers of Beloit, Chris (Greg) Maxfield of Apple Valley, Minn., Kurt (Dianna) Robers of Burlington; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by siblings, Erv Wolf of Florida, Marianne Jante of Burlington, Ruth (Bob) Kreilcamp of Yorkville, Betty Hartig of Racine; in-laws, Edmund (Mae) Robers of Exeland, Bernice Elderbrook of Burlington, Doris Schaefer of Rochester, Norma (Rich) Huckstorf of Wind Lake and Ralph (Jean) Frost of Janesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Roger; in-laws, Ethel (Doug) McKeen, Roy Schaefer, Gin (Ray) Henderson, Robert (Ethel) Robers, Margaret (Carl) Grulich and Ed Elderbrook.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 12 noon at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington with Rev. Steve Amann officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials have been suggested to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
