Josephine Kaskie was born in Poland March 15, 1861 and passed away in Cameron, Missouri, March 27, 1934, at the age of 73 years and 12 days.
She came to the United States with her parents when she was five years of age and settled near Goshen, Indiana. Later she moved to Waterloo, Iowa, and grew to young womanhood there.
In 1876 at Independence, Iowa she was united in marriage with William Kuhnert, and she and her husband came to Cameron, Mo., that year and established their home. Mrs. Kuhnert had since made her home here, but during the past few years has spent some time with her daughter at Kearney. Mr. Kuhnert passed away a number of years ago.
Mrs. Kuhnert is the mother of four children, one daughter, Mrs. Tena McBrayer of Kearney; and three sons, Richard Kuhnert of Lebanon, Mo., William Kuhnert of Denver, Colo., and Roy Kuhnert of Hamilton, Mo. She also has four grandchildren; Herman Kuhnert of Lebanon, Billie and Robert Kuhnert of Hamilton and Sam McBrayer of Kearney; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Reith of Goshen, Ind., and Mrs. Anna Trebon of Rock Valley, Iowa.
Mrs. Kuhnert was known and loved for her kindly and jovial disposition. Always ready and eager to help in time of sickness and trouble she made friends easily and kept them. For several months, until the time of her last illness, she had been assisting in the care of Mrs. P. T. Rooney, and it was in this home she passed away. She will be missed by a large circle of friends.
