Following an illness of nearly ten years duration during which time he was bedfast, Clarence F. Ogden passed peacefully into that eternal rest at his home here at 6:40 o'clock last Wednesday afternoon, August 10. Of robust stature and always in the best of health, Mr. Ogden suffered a paralytic stroke on December 1, 1945 from which he never recovered. However, at times his condition appeared to be improving and he was able to sit in a wheelchair. He attained the age of 67 years, 11 months and four days.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning from St. Magdalen's Catholic church, and interment was in the Catholic cemetery east of town. Pallbearers were: Laurence Ideker, Yerke Larson, Thomas O'Connell, Leonard Walsh, Laurence Ogden and Clarence Ogden, Jr.

Richter, all of Rock Valley, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ideker, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Larson, Humboldt; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Richter, Mr. and Mrs. John Ideker, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Morse and Mr. and Mrs. Hammerlink and daughter of Minneota, Minn.; Mrs. DeSoto, Ghent, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hoover, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Benson, Canton; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Harper, Horicon, Wisc.; Mrs. Lester Anderson, Viborg; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Walsh, Chancellor; Mr. and Mrs. John Rickman and son, Duane, of Norton, Kans.
Born at DeKalb, Missouri on September 7, 1887, son of Benjamin and Mary Ogden, Clarence Franklin Ogden was reared there and when a young man went to Rock Valley, Iowa. There he was United in marriage with Josephine Richter and for several years the couple farmed in Missouri. Returning to Rock Valley in 1913, he accepted a position with the Milwaukee railroad as section foreman there. In 1917 the family took up their residence in Lennox and here for nine years he was Milwaukee section foreman. Moving to Horicon, Wisc. in 1926, Mr. Ogden was roadmaster on the Milwaukee line there for four years. Returning to Lennox in 1930, he was again made Milwaukee section foreman out of this point and served in that capacity for 15 years, until his illness. His services with the Milwaukee railroad extended over a period of 32 years.
Deceased is survived by his widow; three sons, Herman F. of Madison, Wisc., Laurence A. and Clarence J., residing in Lennox; four daughters, (Mary) Sister Mary Veronica, Miles City, Mont., (Catherine) Mrs. Laurence Ideker of Lester, Ia., (Margaret) Mrs. Wm. V. Hopkins of SanDiego, Calif., and (Pearl) Mrs. Y. Z. Larson of Sioux Falls; one sister, Mrs. John Hickman of Norton, Kansas; one brother, Thurston Ogden, Denver, Colo., and 23 grandchildren.
