Mrs. Mary Schemmer (nee Rossmiller) passed away at her home on Geneva street on Tuesday morning at nine o'clock, the cause of her death being heart failure. Mrs. Schemmer had been in ill health for some time past, but was up and around until shortly before the end came.
Mrs. Schemmer was born in Burlington Feb. 12, 1874, and has always resided here. She was married to Chas. A. Schemmer on Oct. 12, 1897. Mr. Schemmer died eight years ago and has since, with her brother, George Rossmiller, conducted the grocery and general store that belonged to her husband at the time of his death.
One son, Urban, is left to mourn her untimely loss; also a sister, Mrs. Wm. Forge of Burlington, and four brothers, Wm. Rossmiller, Marshfield, Wis.; John Rosmiller, Racine; and Henry and George Rossmiller, Burlington.
The funeral will be held on Friday morning at nine o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church. At the time of her death Mrs. Schemmer was a member of the Ladies' society of that church.
