Mrs. Henry Richter Dies at Daughter's Home in Bassetts
Mrs. Henry Richter, 80, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Nienhaus.
Mrs. Richter, whose maiden name was Anna Uhlenhake, was born in Burlington April 12, 1860. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Uhlenhake.
Her marriage to Henry Richter took place Nov. 11, 1879 at St. Mary's church, and was solemnized by Rev. Michael Wisbauer, Burlington's pioneer priest. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Richter took up their residence on a farm near Brown's lake, which remained their home for many years. Mr. Richter died July 22, 1924.
Surviving Mrs. Richter's death are six children, Theodore and Henry Richter, Mrs. Joe Tenhagen and Mrs. John Tenhagen, Burlington; Mrs. Ben Robers and Mrs. Henry Nienhaus, Bassetts. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a. m. Wednesday at St. Mary's church. Rev. Edward Kersting, pastor of St. Mary's. will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
