Harold Levandoski, age 91, formerly of Drummond, passed away, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital. He was born May 28, 1925 in Trevor, WI, the son of Phillip Sr. and Martha (Lippert) Levandoski.
As a young man Harold moved with his family to the Grand View area known as Trappers Lake where they all owned and operated a farm, resort-tavern and dance hall. Following his schooling, Harold served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper and did nine jumps. He served two years in England and France before leaving the service in 1946.
Harold married Nancy Paasch on July 4, 1959 in Antioch, IL. The couple resided in Paddock Lake, WI until moving to Drummond in 1964 where they owned and operated Drummond Auto for 33 years.
Harold was a member of the Stokes-Leibman American Legion Post #487 of Cable. He enjoyed working on and restoring cars and loved to spend time and pass on his knowledge of mechanics to his grandsons.
He is survived by his son, Randy (Lisa) Levandoski; grandsons, Arick and Bryan Levandoski, both serving in the U.S. Air Force; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Levandoski in 2010; parents; sisters, Viola, Gertrude and Lucille; and brothers, Gerald, Joseph, Robert and 3 other infant brothers.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland.
Inurnment and military services will be held in the spring at the Drummond Cemetery. A reception will follow the graveside services at the Black Bear Inn in Drummond.
