Mary Elizabeth (Seitz) Hofner, 77, died Jan. 4, 2007, in Flagstaff.
She was born July 29, 1929, in Silver Lake, Wisc.
Mrs. Hofner was in the antique business in Flagstaff for more than 20 years, and was the owner of Golden Memories Antiques. Prior to that, she was a local realtor for 16 years. Her favorite past time was hitting garage sales and swap meets looking for that long, lost, antique treasure.
Mrs. Hofner graduated from Wilmot High School in 1947.
On May 8, 1948 she was married to her husband of 54 years, Charles W. Hofner. They lived in Burlington Wisc., where they had five children. They relocated to Flagstaff in 1971.
Mrs. Hofner volunteered more than 2,500 hours with the Flagstaff Hospital Auxiliary, serving as President in 1976. She was active in the Flagstaff Gem and Mineral Society, and the Catholic Church's Daughters of Isabella. Mrs. Hofner served as a Girl Scout leader for years, and volunteered with the Salvation Army.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Hofner, her mother and father, Rosalia and Michael Seitz, her sister, Arlene Robers, her children, Marc Hofner and Nancy Roberts and her grandson, Jesse Roberts.
She is survived by her siblings, Charles and James Seitz, and Rose Podella, all of Southern Wisconsin, her children, Dave Hofner, Rhinelander, Wisc., Dianne M. Saphiere, Leawood, Kansas and Charles R. Hofner, Flagstaff; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Northland Hospice in Mary's name.
