Harold J. "Mike" Alby, 75, passed away at his residence on Friday, May 31, 2002.
He was born on February 25, 1927, in Burlington to Chester and Elsie (nee: Storm) Alby, and spent his early life in Burlington. On November 29, 1952, in Burlington, he married Imelda Marie Robers, and was her loving husband for 49 years.
He was employed with the City of Burlington Street Department as a Street Sweeper and Snow Plower for 32 years. After Harold retired from the city he worked as a courier for E-S Plastics in Waterford. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Imelda Alby; he is the beloved father of one daughter Toni Myhre of Rochester, and one son, Terry (Susan) Alby of Hingham; and four grandchildren of which he was a very special grandfather; Josh, Carissa, Abbey and Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Joe Debski officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery on Wednesday following the service. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, June 4, 2002, from 4 until 7:15 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home. There will be a prayer vigil at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial suggestions have been made to Kenosha Hospice Alliance, St. Mary's Catholic Church and the American Cancer Society.
