Sterling T. Thompson, 70, 1502 75th St., died Friday afternoon (April 24, 1987) at his home after a two-year illness.
The son of the late James L. and Eleanora (Rasmussen) Thompson, he was born Oct. 23, 1916, in the Town of Salem.
He attended Salem schools.
On March 30, 1940, in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, New Munster, he married Eleanor Kerkman.
A mechanic by trade, he worked for American Motors Corp. for 18 years and at Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc., for four years, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Glen S., Kenosha; a brother, Mark R., Lynn, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. George (Lila) Neu, Rapid City, S.D., and two grandchildren.
The Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
THOMPSON—Funeral services for the late Mr. Sterling T. Thompson who passed away April 24th will held on Monday, April 27th at 9:30 A.M. from the Hansen Funeral Home with Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. from St. Mark's Catholic Church. Interment to follow at St. Alphonse Cemetery New Munster. Friends may call at the Hansen Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday (today). Prayer vigil services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday (today) at the Hansen Funeral Home.
