Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Gertrude Laska were held from the St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Finlayson Tuesday, April 29, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Roman Spors officiating. Casket bearers were: Larry Alm, Michael Alm, James Breska, Thomas Laska, James Laska and Leslie Richardson. Interment was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery at Finlayson.
Mrs. Anna Gertrude Laska was born in St. Francis, Minnesota, on August 6, 1892. She was married to Vincent Laska at Anoka, Minnesota, on August 25, 1914. They moved to their farm on Pine Lake in 1919. They retired from farming in 1965 and moved into the village of Finlayson to make their home. Since their retirement Mrs. Laska had not been in good health and has been living at the Sandstone Nursing Home for the past four years. She passed away there Friday, April 25, 1969, at the age of 76 years.
Surviving are her husband, Vincent, of Finlayson; four sons, Stanley of Hayward, Wisconsin; Joseph of Minneapolis, Raymond and Francis of Finlayson; two daughters (Clara) Mrs. Ernest Alm and (Alice) Mrs. George Breska, both living at Finlayson; one sister, Mrs. Millie Kesler of Winona; three brothers, Bernard Breyen, Leo Breyen and Lawrence Breyen, all living in Minneapolis; 28 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Guild and American Legion Auxiliary of Finlayson. Arrangements by Hamlin Funeral Home of Finlayson.
