Ill only two hours, Mrs. Joseph Laska, 28, of Finlayson, passed away in the Moose Lake Community hospital Tuesday evening, May 31, shortly after being taken there from her home. Her death resulting from a cerebral hemorrhage, came as a severe shock to her family and friends for she had not been ill. She took part in a Memorial day parade the previous day. The following day she washed clothes and did all her usual house work until around two o'clock when she was stricken, first with a severe headache.
The funeral services were held from the St. John's Lutheran church Friday afternoon at 2 p. Rev. Karl Wilkman officiating. Interment was made in the Finnish Lutheran cemetery. The pallbearers were Milton Koski, Allan Koski, Ellis Karl, Urho Hannu, Lyle Anderson and Edwin Pajala.
The deceased was the former Senia Korpi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Korpi, who are left to mourn her passing. Besides her parents she leaves her husband, Joseph Laska, and son, Jerry, just over a year old; five sisters, Julia, (Mrs. Walter Mannelin; Celia, Mrs. G. F. Hildebrandt; Alma, Mrs. Harold Wichner; Ruth, Mrs. George Brabec; Lillie, Mrs. Ralph Schoenrock; and five brothers, Edward, Alvin, Niilo, Nestor and Marlyn.
