Mrs. H. Kerkman, 69, Dies of Short Illness

 

Mrs. Henry Kerkman, 69, New Munster, died at Burlington Memorial Hospital Tuesday following a short illness. A native of New Munster she was born Clara Epping, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Epping March 1, 1889.

On Nov. 17, 1908 she was married to Henry Kerkman at New Munster. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last month.

Mrs. Kerkman was a_ member of St. Alphonsus Church and the Christian Mothers Society of the church. For the past 12 years she was president of that group.

Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons, Marcell, Union Grove, Francis, New Munster, Leon, Bassett, James, Brown's Lake, and Stanley, Burlington; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Siehoff, Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Frank Lohaus, Salem; a step-brother, William Elbert, Williams Bay; a step-sister, Mrs. Ben Hofner, New Munster; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Epping.

KERKMAN-Funeral services for the late Mrs. Henry Kerkman, New Munster, Wis., will be held Friday, Dec. 5th at 10 a.m. from St. Alphonse church, New Munster, Wis. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, New Munster. Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Schuette Funeral Home, 505 Wilmot Ave., Burlington, Wis. Rosary services Thursday at 8 p.m.
