Jacob Kramer, 101, 203 South Seventh Street, Coldwater, died at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17, at his residence of natural causes.
He was born on April 23, 1893. in Loretto, Tennessee, to William and Mary (Pagel) Kramer. On September 4, 1917, he married Theresa Gels who preceded him in death on January 24, 1973.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Marie) Kennedy, Centerville, Mrs. Rita Gustin, Huber Heights, Sr. Mary Ruth Kramer, O.L.V.M., Coldwater, and Mrs. Lester (Dorothy) Brandewie, Celina; two sons, Fr. William Kramer, C.PP.S., St. Joseph College, Rensselaer, Indiana, and Arnold and his wife Ruth Kramer, Coldwater; two sisters, Anna Klosterman, Edgerton, and Kathryn Kramer, Wickliffe; a brother, Joseph Kramer, Erie, Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, five sisters, and a great-grandchild.
Kramer was a retired rural mail carrier. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, the Holy Name Society of the Church, Royal Catholic Knights of America, and the American Legion Post, Coldwater. He was the last known veteran of World War I in Mercer County.
Services were held on Tuesday, June 21, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater; Fr. William Kramer officiating. Burial was in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
