CALEDONIA

 

Clifford W. "Cliff" Noll Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8th, 2014. Cliff was born April 3, 1929 to Clifford Sr. and Ruth (née Savage) in Burlington, WI. He spent his childhood years in Union Grove, graduating from Union Grove High School in 1946. After high school he went into the U.S. Army and served in the Occupation of Japan. On November 5th, 1949 he married Ruth R. Katterhagen, his high school sweetheart. Cliff was a graduate from the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater. Following graduation he taught mathematics in Freeport, Illinois and then entered into the retail lumber business from which he retired in 1991. This included 33 years at Caledonia Lumber & Millwork Co. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ruth, and their eight children: Janice (Carl) Hunt, Reistertown MD, Allen (Paula) Menomonie, WI, Nancy (Charles) Hallberg, Milwaukee, WI, Carol (Richard) Lechusz, Kenosha, WI, Kenneth (Annette), Franksville, WI., Donald (Anne) Caledonia, WI. James (Vickie) Burlington, WI. , Joyce (Greg) Roscizewski, Waterford, WI, 22 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren, Sisters and Brothers - in-law. In addition to his parents and in-laws, Cliff was preceded in death by his sister Mae Marie (Mike) Bodven. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cliff was a Charter member of the Caledonia Lions and a recipient of the Melvin Jones award. He also belonged to St. Louis Catholic Church, the Franksville Business Men and American Legion Post #494. He was proud to have made the Honor Flight this past November. Cliff was a regular blood donor, donating over 100 pints. Visitation will be held at the FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, February 11th from 4PM-7PM with a prayer service at 7PM. A funeral Mass and Celebration of Cliff's life will be held Wednesday, February 12th at 10:30AM at St. Louis Catholic Church, 13207 Hwy. G in Caledonia, WI. A private internment will be held at the Southern WI. Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery in Dover, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lion's Camp at Rosholt, WI. or St. Louis Catholic Church.
