Mrs. Etna C. Ellerbrock, 73, of Auburn passed away at 12:32 a.m. May 4, in St. Anthony Hospital where she had been a patient for 10 days. Death attributed a heart condition.
Requiem mass will be offered by the Rev. Jerome Koenig in St. Mary's Church, Auburn, at 9 a.m. Friday, May 6. Burial will be in the St. Mary's cemetery.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Wednesday. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Wednesday by the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Mary's Church and again at 9 p.m.; also at 8 p.m. Thursday, led by Fr. Koenig, and again at 9 p.m.
Mrs. Ellerbrock was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Mattix and was born at Sadoris, Ill., August 17, 1886. She came to Iowa with her parents as a young girl settling in the vicinity of Fort Dodge where the family resided for only a short time, later moving to Willow City, N.D. As young woman, she returned to Iowa and taught in the Sac County school system in the vicinity of Auburn.
She was married to Charles H. Ellerbrock in Sacred Heart Church at Willow City, N.D., February 22, 1911 returning to make her home on a farm six miles northwest of Auburn which was her residence at the time of her death. Mr. Ellerbrock passed way in 1935.
Surviving children are Mrs. Ed Haubrich (Bernice), Carroll; Sr. M. Coralita (Maxine), of Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Ed Babish (Lavola), Cleveland, Ohio; Cletus of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and Paul of Auburn.
Also surviving are a Sister Mrs. Gladys DuBoy of Rolette, N.D.; a brother, Vernon Mattix of Geneva. Minn.; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Ellerbrock was a member of St. Mary Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
