Marjorie E. Adams, 66, of Carroll, who owned and operated an antique shop for the past 20 years, died Saturday evening, Nov. 24, 1990, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Officiating will be Father Lawrence McCarty of Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Burial will be at the Carroll Cemetery in Carroll.
Casket bearers will be William Holm Jr., William Carr, David Nieland, Dick Morris, Duane Hoover and Emmett Arneson.
Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. There will be a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born March 2, 1924, at Yetter, Iowa, she was a daughter of William and Leafy (Clarkin) Ellerbrock. She attended elementary school in Lytton. Iowa, and graduated from Lake City High School in 1941. She then attended Ottumwa Heights Academy in Ottumwa, Iowa, and later graduated from the former Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls with a teaching degree.
She then taught elementary school in Ottumwa, Brookly and Fort Dodge, Iowa.
On Nov. 1, 1947, she was married to Robert P. Adams in Fort Dodge. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Lake City, and in 1977 they moved to Carroll.
For the past 20 years Mrs. Adams owned and operated Marge's Antiques and travelled extensively in her antique business.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband, Robert, of Carroll; her children, Mark Adams and his wife, Maureen, of Des Moines and Melissa Morris and her husband, Eugene, of Lohrville, Iowa; six grandchildren, Erica and Zachary Adams and Emily, Andrew, Abigail and Matthew Morris; and a sister, Elaine Mohney, of Venice, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Matthew, in infancy; and a brother, William Ellerbrock.
