Linda Kipp, long-time resident of the Festina area, died October 11 at the Ossian Senior Hospice following a lingering illness. She was 84.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Festina. The Rev Clement Burke officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Casket bearers were her grandsons, Leon, Daniel, Dale and John Kipp and Darwin and Daryl Frana. Elnore Hackman was organist for the services, and French Funeral Home made the arrangements.
Mrs. Kipp was born Linda Scholbrock Dec. 5, 1902, in Festina to Clem and Anna Lechtenberg Scholbrock. She received her education at St. Mary's School and had been employed more than 20 years at Nor-Eg in Calmar before retiring.
She married John Kipp in Festina Feb. 17, 1925, and the couple had five children. A son and a daughter, Donald J. Kipp and Elaine Frana, both of Festina, survive.
Other survivors are 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clem Scholbrock of Cresco and Albert Scholbrock of Waucoma; and three sisters, Mathilda Baumler of West Union, Louise Reicks, Cresco, and Ann Elpert of Rochester, Minn.
Two children died in infancy, and a son, Lavern Kipp, died February 14, 1987.
Mrs. Kipp belonged to St. Mary's Church and the Rosary Society.
