Albert Scholbrock, 92, of Waucoma, died Sunday, January 5, 2003 at Colonial Manor In Elma of age related complications.
Services will be Friday, January 10 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. Peter Bodensteiner.
Burial will be at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation was at the Waucoma Funeral Chapel on Thursday, Jan. 9 With a 4:00 p.m. C.D. of A and Rosary Society Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. Scripture.
Albert Scholbrock was born June 16, 1910 at Festina, IA, to parents Clemens and Anna (Lechtenberg) Scholbrock. He attended grade school and did farm labor in the Festina area. On October 15, 1940 he was united In marriage to Dorothy Blong at St. Lukes Catholic Church at St. Lucas. They resided in Rochester, MN where he was employed at the Star Bakery. In 1949 moved back to Iowa on a farm in the Waucoma area. He retired to Waucoma in 1974 and became a resident of Colonial Manor in May of 1998. Albert loved to garden and share his produce and flowers with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with the grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary's Parish, St. Mary's Roasary Society and served for some years on the Waucoma town Council.
Survivors include three children: Darlene (Frances) Kuennen, Waucoma; Gerald Scholbrock, Sparta, NC, and Kenneth (Pat) Scholbrock, Lawler; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Ida Lansing, Ossian.
Preceding him in death was wife, Dorothy in 1998; parents; 4 brothers, 5 sisters.
