A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Cyril Baumler, 75, Calmar, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Calmar, on Friday, June 14. The 11 a.m. Mass was officiated by Rev. Donald Hawes.
Burial was in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Calmar. Casket bearers were Jeff Guenther, Darin Wurzer, Mark Baumler, Steve Baumler, Kenny Baumler, Donald Baumler, Conrad Baumler and Rick Throndson.
Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel, Calmar, was in charge of arrangements.
Cyril died Monday, June 10, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., following a long illness.
Cyril Herman Baumler was born March 1, 1927, to Carl and Mathilda (Scholbrock) Baumler of St. Lucas. He attended St. Luke's grade school. In 1953 he attended electronics school in Des Moines.
On June 1, 1954, Cyril married Theresa Lansing at St. Francis de Sales in Ossian. They moved to Calmar in 1955, where Cyril ran his TV repair business.
Cyril was a member of the Calmar Commercial Club for many years, as well as a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Calmar.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Donald and Neil Baumler.
Surviving Cyril are his wife, Theresa, Calmar; three sons, Dave (Becky); Gary (Denise), and Duane (Janice), all of Decorah; two daughters, Janet Coffey, Tempe, Ariz., and JoAnn (Loren) Kuennen, Ossian; and 10 grandchildren.
Additional survivors include four brothers, Reynold (Helen) and Melvin (Rita), all of West Union, Gerald (Lois), Waucoma, and Irenus (Marlene), Waukon; three sisters, Lou Ann (Harlon) Throndson, Lawler, Colleen (Gerald) Guenther and Norma Jean (Eddy) Wurzer, all of West Union.
