Research notes for Albert
Albert appears to be the son of William Nelson Parks and Eliz McWilliams. W.N.Parks married E.McWilliams 18 Oct 1891. On 1 Jan 1901, E.McWilliams married Nicholas Dorsey. It appears W.N.Parks was still alive at this point, so a divorce is assumed. Inbetween these two marriages, Albert Isaah Parks was born, and, is listed as such in 1895 census. (Note : While I was able to find both W.N.Parks and E.McWilliams 1900 census record, NEITHER of them have Albert with them.)
So, it looks as though Albert was born Albert Isiah Parks and through whatever means (adoption/name change/etc.), he became Albert Isiah Dorsey somewhere btw 1895 and 1905. (Most likely btw 1901 and 1905.)
Now, Albert's 1st wife appears to be Nellie White (dau of Will White and Edna? DeSmitte). I cannot explain the NE marriage record listing her as Nellie McDermott. Perhaps a 2nd marriage...? In any event, they were married 14 Sep 1916 in Dakota City, NE. 1920, 1925, and 1930 census records show no children.
I do not know what happened to Nellie, but in Nov 1930, a marriage license was granted to Nellie Dorsey and Ed Kavanaugh. Nellie signed Ed's death certificate in 1939. Ed is buried in Sioux City. Unfortunately, there is another Nellie Kavanaugh (married to Terrance Kavanaugh) that keeps coming up on searches for THIS Nellie.
Now, Albert married Anna Mae Lowrey 16 Sep 1934 in Rock Valley, IA. Albert died 13 May 1935. Meanwhile, there is a child Agnes. Which, of course, is the source of MORE confusion.
Agnes' headstone (next to her mother Anna, in R.V.IA) says May 6, 1935-May 7, 1936. The obit is from Friday, May 8th, 1936 and says Agnes passed on Wed. That would make it May 6th, not 7th. Not huge, but then it say she was three months and eight days old. That puts her DOB as 21 Jan 1936. Albert died 13 May 1935. Possible? Sure. But likely? Well, consider the alternative...if Agnes was born as it says on her HS - on May 6, 1935 and Albert died May 13, 1935, then why isn't Agnes listed on Albert's obit? I don't know...I think the HS is wrong. (See Agnes Notes.)
And finally, Anna's obit. Well, it lists a son, Fred. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, per an alii accusata quaestio, ea mnesarchum interpretaris eam, pertinacia dissentiunt et mel.
