Donald J. Kipp. age 82, of Festina, died Friday. May 2, 2008, at the Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian, following a lingering illness.

Donald Joseph Kipp was born Dec 18, 1925, the son of John and Linda (Scholbrock) Kipp in Festina.

Donnie attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Festina. He married Marie Anna Einck on Nov. 22, 1948, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Festina. Together they farmed near Lawler and Fort Atkinson. After they moved to Festina, Donnie drove truck for F&W Trucking in Ossian, Nor-Egg in Calmar and various other trucking businesses in the area, retiring in 1986. After retirement, he worked at the Creamery in Festina and especially enjoyed mowing for many people in Festina with his John Deere lawnmower. Donnie enjoyed going fishing and to the Polka Fest in New Ulm, Minn. Donald was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church and Rosary Society. The Kipp family is especially thankful for the exceptional care that Donnie received while at the Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian.

Donnie's survivors include his three sons: Leon (Bernie) Kipp, Fort Atkinson, Dan (Diane) Kipp, New Hampton, and Dale (Kara) Kipp, Burnsville, Minn.; four daughters, Pat (Keith) Marovets, Postville, Sue (Dave) Yearous, New Hampton, Nancy (Kenny) Mikota, Conover, and Deb (Marty) Tieskoetter, Ossian; 18 grandchildren: Ryan and Lisa Kipp; Brian (Alison) Marovets, Eric (Linda) Marovets & Mitchell Marovets; Scott Kipp, Mark (Michelle) Kipp & Angela Kipp; Tyler, Michael & Shawon Yearous; Carrie Mikota; Adam Tieskoetter, Russell (Lisa) Tieskoetter, Levi (Sally) Tieskoetter and Mason Tieskoetter; Kayla and Travis Kipp; 11 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex, Macey & Makenzie Marovets; Chloe & Noah Tieskoetter, Owen & Brody Tieskoetter & Josie & Logan Tieskoetter and Sydney Kipp; one sister: Elaine Frana, Festina; three sisters-in-law: Rosaria Einck, Festina, Alice Einck of Rochester, Minn., and Toni Kipp, Denver, along with several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents: John and Linda Kipp; and by his wife, Marie, on Dec. 7, 2005; one granddaughter, Brooke Yearous in 1981; a brother, Vern Kipp; and one sister and a brother in infancy. Also preceding him in death were four brothers-ln-law, Norbert Einck, Herb (Mildred) Wenthold, Louis Einck and Stan Frana; and his father and mother-in-law: Theodore and Julitta Einck.

Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, May 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Festina. Monsignor Cletus Hawes officiated. Lector was Lisa Kipp. Eucharistic ministers were Barb Heins, Dave Einck, and Tim Franzen. Offertory giftbearers were Levi Tieskoetter, Mason Tieskoetter and Mitchell Marovets. Casket bearers were Eric Marovets, Mark Kipp, Michael Yearous, Carrie Mikota, Russell and Travis Kipp. Music was by Diane Stee, organist, accompanying Our Lady Of Seven Dolors Choir. Hymns were: "Here I am, Lord," "Be Not Afraid," "On Eagle's Wings" and "How Great Thou Art." Interment was at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery in Festina, with Schluter — Balik Funeral Home French Chapel, Calmar, in charge of the arrangements.

Marie Einck Wed November 22

Marie Einck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Einck, Festina, became the bride of Donald Kipp, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kipp, Festina, yesterday, November 22, at the St. Mary's church in Festina with the Rev. H. P. Nosbisch officiating.

The bride wore a gown of white skinner satin with a sheer yoke, scalloped bertha of satin with inserts of sheer marquisette, long pointed sleeves and a full skirt with a presentation train. The fitted bodice buttoned down the back with tiny satin buttons. The veil was of imported English illusion with a high sweetheart tiara of net and pearlized orange blossoms.

Antonia Wurzer, a friend, was maid of honor and wore a yellow gown and carried a bouquet of mixed chrysanthemums. Another friend, Rosaria Wurzer, wore a dark blue gown and also carried a mixed bouquet of chrysanthemums.

Lavern Kipp, brother of the bridegroom and Norbert Einck, brother of the bride were the bridegroom's attendants.

A reception was held for 120 at the home of the bride's parents and 150 for supper.

The couple both attended school at St. Mary's in Festina and the bridegroom is engaged in farming.

Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. John C. Dvorak, Reedville, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Al Huinker of Cato, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lewis of Manitowoc, Wis.
