Stanley F. Frana, 54, of Festina, died of an apparent heart attack on Saturday evening, July 13at Red Wing, Minn.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 16 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church in Festina, with the Rev Marvin Salz officiating. French Funeral Home of Calmar was in charge of the arrangements and burial was at the church cemetery.
Music was by Our Lady of Seven Dolors Adult Choir. Casket bearers were John Kipp, Leon Frana, Craig Frana, Daniel Frana, Hubert Busch and John Scholbrock.
Stanley Frana was born March 9, 1931 in Spillville. He attended Spillville schools and served in the United States Army. He married his wife Elaine on Aug. 2, 1954, at Festina. Mr. Frana had been a cabinet maker at Calmar Manufacturing for 31 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife Elaine, two daughters, Darcy Huinker of Calmar and Darlys Vick of Decorah; two sons, Darwin of Tucson, Ariz., and Darryl of Festina, two grandchildren; one step-grandchild, his mother Otilla of Spillville; five brothers, Art of Spillville, Ermin and Julius of Calmar, Marc of Charles City and Jerome of Ossian; and three sisters, Martha of Spillville, Viola and Geogina, both of Minneapolis, Minn.
