Beverly A. Svestka, age 82, died on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Samaritan Bethany Home in Rochester, MN, surrounded by her family.
A visitation will be held for Beverly on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will start at 11:00 a.m., at the church with Fr. Daniel Knipper officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Beverly Ann Scholbrock was born January 29, 1939, daughter of Clem F. and Dorothy G. (Holthaus) Scholbrock near Ossian, Iowa, and the Scholbrock family later relocated to a farm near Lime Springs, IA. Beverly attended Notre Dame High School graduating in 1956. Following high school, she took a position with St. Marys Hospital in Rochester from 1956-1957. On September 4, 1957, Beverly married Roger Svestka at Assumption Catholic Church in Cresco. After moving a few times, the couple settled in Protivin. Beverly worked for Larson’s Tavern for several years as a cook. She was a Rosary Society member, Cub Scout Den Mother, and Religious Education Teacher. Beverly enjoyed being on a boat fishing, tending her garden, cooking, and spending time with grandchildren and family. Above all else, Beverly was a caregiver. She spent many years taking care of Roger when his health was failing.
She is survived by her children Steven (Diane) Svestka of Decorah, IA, Marla (David Lannin) Einck of Rochester, MN, Doug (Paula) Svestka of Pine Island, MN; grandchildren Nicolette (Aaron) TerBeest of Decorah, IA, Derek (fiancé Ashley Adams) Svestka of West Des Moines, IA, Jarrett (Kaitlin) Svestka of West Salem, WI, Zachary (Alison Brooks) Einck of Minneapolis, MN, Jennifer (Rob Ison) Einck of Eugene, OR, Benjamin Einck of Rochester, MN, and Cal Svestka of Pine Island, MN; great grandchildren Gabbi, Phoebe, and Daphne TerBeest, and Elizabeth Marla Einck; step great granddaughters Addy and Livy Adams; sister Ivanell (Sylvester) Zobeck of Waukon, IA; brothers Orville (Teresa) Scholbrock of Charles City, IA and Wayne (Jayne) Scholbrock of Cresco, IA, and sisters-in-law Judy Aberg of Cresco, IA and Marilyn Svestka of Garnavillo, IA.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roger, brother Lowell Scholbrock, and brother-in-law Alvin Svestka.
