James L. Ferrie, 18, Funeral Held Friday

 

Funeral services for James L. Ferrie of Cresco were held Friday, May 9, at 11:00 at the St. Joseph Catholic church in Cresco. A concelebrated mass was by the Rev. Roman Schares, Msgr. L.H. Reicks, the Rev. Donald Bakewell, the Rev. Donald Hawes, the Rev. Donald Plamondon and the Rev. Clarence Kruse. Burial was in Calvary cemetery with the Conway Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

He died Tuesday, May 6, of heart failure. He had in Rochester and was scheduled back for surgery on May 7.

James Ferrie was born Oct 24, 1956, in Cresco, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ferrie, of rural Cresco. He had lived in the Cresco area all his life. He attended St. Joseph's grade school and was a 1974 graduate of the Notre Dame high school. He was a member of St. Joseph's catholic church and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Jim was employed by United Shippers at the time of his death.

Survivors include his parents; six sisters, Mrs. Gary (Judy) Erdman of Whittemore, Diane and Janis of Rochester, Karen, Shirley, Annette, all at home; 5 brothers, Gerald of Cresco, Duane, Kenneth, Daniel and Dennis, at home; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Reicks of Cresco.
