Rosemary "Rosie" Reicks, 75, of Harmony, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at her home in Harmony.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at Nativity Catholic Church in Harmony. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Canton. Friends may call Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony is assisting the family.
Rosie was born May 31, 1938, in Scheffield, N.D., the daughter of Joseph and Eugenia (Selinger) Olheiser. She attended St. Pius Catholic School in Scheffield. In 1958, she moved to Rochester to work as a dietary aide at Saint Marys Hospital. It was in Rochester that she met Virgil Reicks. They were married on June 8, 1961, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Scheffield. In 1962, they started farming in Fillmore County where they lived until 1999 when they moved to Harmony. Rosie retired as a nurses aide in 2004 from the Harmony Care Center where she worked for 37 years.
Rosie enjoyed crocheting, scrapbooking, working on her genealogy and was known for the doughnuts and rolls she made.
Rosie is survived by her husband, Virgil of Harmony; three children, Lois (Neil) Halverson of Mabel, Jim (Renee) Reicks of Harmony and Wayne Reicks of Harmony; four grandchildren, Laura, Ryan, Sarah and Andrew; four siblings, Nick (Cecilia) Olheiser of Dickinson, N.D., Veronica Messer of Anoka, Agnes Job of Wibaux, Mont., and Leo (Jeanette) Olheiser of Dickinson, N.D.; and a sister-in-law, Katie Olheiser of Dickinson, N.D.
Rosie is preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Tillie (Joseph) Messer, John (Dorothy) Olheiser and Michael Olheiser; and a brother-in-law, Norbert Job.
