The funeral for Timothy G. Lowrie will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Berean Community Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Kevin Block officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
Mr. Lowrie, 58, of Rochester, died Thursday (June 21, 2007) at Saint Marys Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Timothy Gerald Lowrie was born Nov. 8, 1948, in Rochester. He entered the Army in 1967 and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a retired truck driver and had worked for Wilson Refrigerating and GML Trucking. On Dec. 26, 1980, he married Gayle Elpert in Pleasant Grove; she is a Mayo Clinic employee. Mr. Lowrie was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the VFW of Stewartville, the Southern Minnesota Ford Club, DRAW and the NHRA. His hobbies included his Woody Station Wagon, drag racing and traveling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, LuAnn Hoffmann of Hutchinson, Minn., and Jesse Lowrie, Ryan Raymond and Chad (Bridget) Raymond, all of Rochester; three grandchildren; his parents, Fahy and Shirley Lowrie of Rochester; and two brothers, Thomas (Kitty) Kryder of Washington and Terry (Sandy) Lowrie of Minot, N.D.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, and an hour before the service Tuesday at the church.
