RICHMOND, July 18.
A very large number relatives, friends and neighbors, paid last tribute to the memory of one of the oldest of Goulbourn's citizens, George Mears, at the funeral held from his late residence, seventh line of Goulbourn, to St. Philip's Catholic church here on Wednesday morning, when Rev. J. E. Brennan officiated at high mass assisted by Reverends Father Frank Brennan, Ottawa, and Father Burke of St. Patrick's, Ottawa. Many sisters and nuns from the order of the Grey Nuns, Ottawa, were present.
The full church choir was in attendance with Mrs. John Hughes at the organ. Many spiritual offerings were received. The survivors are four daughters and four sons. Three of the sons acting as pallbearers, namely, John Mears, Joseph Mears and Napoleon Mears, also Eddie Shanahan, Joe Forbes and John Mears of Twin Elm.
