The death of Joseph Mears occurred at a local hospital Thursday. He was in his 54th year.
Born at Stanley's Corners, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Mears, he was a farmer until his marriage 26 years ago to the former Margaret Watters of Fitzroy Harbor. For some years he was yard foreman for the Canada Bread Company. He attended St. Mary's Church.
In addition to his widow there are two sons, Dominic and Ambrose Mears, of Ottawa; two brothers, Alonzo and Napoleon Mears, of Stittsville, and three sisters, Rev. Sister Victorine. of St. Joseph's Convent, North Bay; Mrs. Joseph Kelly, of Huntley, and Miss Nellie Mears, of Stittsville.
The funeral will be held from the parlors of McEvoy Brothers, 235 Kent street, at 7.40 a.m. Saturday for requiem high mass in St. Mary's Church at 8 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Phillip's cemetery, Richmond.
