Alvin W. Noble, 79, passed away Monday, October 13, 2008, at his residence. He was born December 28, 1928, in Burlington, to Edward and Cathrine (nee: Bird) Noble. Alvin spent his early life on the family farm in Dover Township. On February 3, 1951, at Honey Lake Baptist Church, Alvin was united in marriage to Rose Marie Vondras. Following marriage, they resided in Burlington. He received his education at the Rochester Agricultural School. Alvin was a Farmer, a Musician, and a Milk Hauler. He was a member of English Settlement United Methodist Church, the Burlington Masonic Lodge #28, Burlington Council #45, Royal Arch #91, Commandery #50, the Tripoli Shrine, and the Tri County Shrine. Alvin was an avid reader and doer of crossword puzzles and picture puzzles. He enjoyed hunting in Colorado, outdoor activities, and woodworking.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rose Noble of Burlington; their children, Christine (Steph) Noble of California, Kay (Paul) Beix of Burlington, Cindy (Tom) Hunt of Arizona, Kim Ozak of Abrams, Ed (Dawn) Noble of Burlington, and Kathy (Rocky) Fluegge of Burlington; and grandchildren, Deb (Rob) Simon of New Berlin, James Beix of Milwaukee, Paula (Kevin) Reinholtz of Burlington, Christopher (Arianna) Hunt, Nicholas Hunt, all of Arizona, Bryce Ozak, Bryan Ozak, both of Abrams, and Jessica and Ean Noble of Burlington. He is further survived by great-grandchildren, Payton Simon, Hunter and Ella Reinholtz, and Tyler Hunt; and by a brother, Walter Noble. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Donald Noble.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008, at 7 p.m. at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Long officiating. Burial will take place at English Settlement Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. with at 6:30 p.m. Masonic service. Memorials to Knights of Templar Eye Foundation or to English Settlement Church Cross Fund have been suggested.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses at Burlington Hospital and the VNA Hospice nurses for all their care.
