Arthur W. Hansen, 54, of 2108 Garfield street, died at 3 a. m. yesterday in Mercy hospital following an operation Jan. 3.
Requiem high mass will be celebrated at 10 a m. Tuesday in St. Irenaeus church. The Rev. E. P. Jackson will officiate and burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Hansen was born Oct. 12, 1891 in Clinton, the of Thomas and Amelia Hansen. He was educated in Sacred Heart school and Clinton High school. He married May Breen in St. Irenaeus church on June 15, 1920. He had been employed as transportation service inspector for the Chicago and North Western railroad for the past 30 years. He was a veteran of World I, a member of June Van Meter post 190, American Legion, the Holy Name society of St. Irenaeus church and the North Western Veterans association.
Surviving are his widow, two sons, Cadet Arthur E. Hansen, U. S military academy, West Point, N. Y., and S 1-c Thomas E. Hansen, stationed in Singapore, China, with the Pacific fleet; a daughter, Betty, at home; two sisters, Mrs. C. L. Armstrong, LaCrosse, Wis., and Mrs. W. B. Neal, Cedar Rapids. His parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him death.
The body is in the Pape funeral home.
