The death of Nelson J. Green one of our aged citizens took place very suddenly Monday evening and was a great shock to the family. He had been around ae usual Monday until he was struck down by death very suddenly. He had been very much out of health since March when he had pneumonia. His age was 70 years. He has resided in Old Town ever since he came from Canada 18 years ago.
He was a member Of Court Penobscot Independent Order of Foresters. He is survived by a wife, and four daughters, Mrs. Roland Anderson, Miss M. Irene Greene and Miss M. Edith Greene of Old Town, and Miss M. Loretta Greene of Woonsocket, R. I. He is also survived by four grandchildren. The funeral services were held in St. Joseph's Catholic church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock.
Rev. Eugene Gautier, officiated. The bearers were Henry Shaw, Oakie Brown, John Caron, Albert Wickett, Harrison Reed and John Merrigan. Interment was in Forest Hills cemetery.
