Mrs. Nellie O'Meara MacRae, 68, 305 West Sixth street, Davenport, a veteran employe of the Modern Woodmen of America head office in Rock Island, died in Mercy hospital, Davenport, at 1:35 a. m. Tuesday. Her death followed a three months' illness.
Mrs. MacRae, a lifelong resident of Davenport, was born Aug. 23, 1897, the daughter of Thomas J. and Mary Killion O'Meara. She received her education in Davenport and was graduated from the Immaculate Conception academy. In 1924 she was married to Roderick MacRae of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, who died a year following their marriage.
Mrs. MacRae, who had been a member of the Modern Woodmen personnel since Feb. 7, 1899, served for many years as a secretary in the society's legal department and as a stenographer for the board of directors.
She is survived by a brother, Tom J. O'Meara of Glendale, Calif. and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a. m. Saturday in the Halligan funeral home, Davenport, and at 9 in St. Anthony's church. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.
