J.P. "Lefty" Green, 61, 939 Mount Loretta Ave., died of cancer at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 1993, at home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael's Cathedral, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Ed Siegert-Al Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where there will be a parish wake service at 7 p.m.
Mr. Green was a sales representative for KDUB-TV, Dubuque, prior to his retirement.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1932, in Cascade, Iowa, son of Stephen and Mildred (Herard) Green. He was married to Evelyn Salz from 1951-81; she is presently Evelyn Petz, living in Phoenix, Ariz. He later married Debi Knaeble in 1984, they divorced in 1992.
He graduated from the former St. Columbkille's High School in 1950. He was a member of the Dubuque Men's Association, Moose Lodge 0355, American Association of Retired Persons, and was a member of the board of directors for Ducks Unlimited.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Gail Higginbotham, of Phoenix, Mrs. Janie Mizrachi, Theresa Green and Mrs. Kate Whitman, all of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mrs. Toby Evans, of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Patsi Troy, of Dubuque; four sons, Guy, Chris and Paul, all of Dubuque, and Joe, of Scottsdale; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Mildred Green, of Cascade; three brothers, L.J., of Cascade, James, of Dubuque, and Tom, of Mesa, Ariz.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Habel, of Dubuque, and Kay Petitgout, of East Dubuque, Ill.
Memorials may be given to the Hospice of Dubuque County.
