Charles L. "Chuck" Mulvehill, 74, of 411 Auburn St., died Friday, Feb. 14, at Allen Memorial Hospital from complications following surgery.
He was born Sept. 30, 1922, in Toledo, Ohio, son of Louis and Mary O'Hagan Mulvehill. He married Winifred Salz on May 20, 1950, in Waterloo.
Mr. Mulvehill attended Loras College, Dubuque, and served in the U.S. Navy as a pharmacist's mate on the USS Samaritan. He was employed at Crescent Electric Co. until 1963, then was employed at Waterloo Industries as a press operator, retiring in 1984.
Survived by: his wife; a son, Michael of Mount Vernon; and four grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: a brother, Paul; and infant twin sisters, Maurene and Ilene Mulvehill.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Full graveside military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Oppold-Hagarty Funeral Home, where there will be 3 p.m. Senior Citizens rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
