Services for Mrs. Winifrede Marie Williams, 72, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Thomas More University Parish with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Norman, directed by Mayes Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williams died Monday at the Tinker Air Force Base Hospital following a long illness.
Born in Waterloo, Iowa, Mrs. Williams moved to Norman in 1922. She retired in 1966 after 35 years of teaching in Norman High School. She taught two years in the Philippines and two years in Colorado. Mrs. Williams received her B.A., M.A. and Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. She was a member of the Norman Retired Teachers Association and the Gray Ladies of the American Red Cross.
She is survived by her husband, Jennings; a son, Peter of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Mrs. Maria Brown; a brother, Francis Burke, Fairmont, Ind., and three grandsons.
