The funeral Mass for Thomas J. Haiston, 23, of 1 S. Main St., will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 Third Ave. S.E. The Rev. Roger Geditz will officiate.
Burial will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery at Presho. The Rev. Brian Lane will officiate. Miller-Huebl Funeral charge of arrangements.
A liturgical wake service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family and casketbearers are requested to meet at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1993, at his home.
Thomas Joseph Haiston was born Feb. 13, 1970, to James Joseph and Mary Agnes (Kotz) Haiston Sr. at Pierre. The family lived in Fort Pierre, where he started school. He later attended school in the Pierre area. The family moved to Aberdeen in June 1979. He attended Simmons Elementary, Simmons Junior High and Central High School until 1986, when he moved to Highland, Calif. He attended Pacific High School, graduating in 1988. He then worked for the California Conservation Corps in forestry and firefighting. He returned to Aberdeen in December 1990 and worked at Mid-States Printing and Kessler's. In November 1991, he moved to Clearfield, Utah, for schooling as a machinist and mechanic. He graduated in March and returned to Aberdeen. He was employed at Cardinal Tool until his death.
He was a member of the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and DeMolay in Aberdeen.
Survivors include his mother of Aberdeen; his father of Twentynine Palms, Calif.; two brothers, James J. Haiston Jr. of Aberdeen and Joshua Haiston Of Twentynine Palms; one sister, Alice Haiston of Twentynine Palms; and his maternal grandparents, O. Vern and Mable Horsley of Fort Pierre.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.
Casketbearers will be Gerald Kotz of Davenport, Iowa, Paul Kotz and Steven Kotz, both of Rockford, Ill., James Kotz of Presho, and James Haiston Jr. and Gary Hansen, both of Aberdeen.
Soloist will be Maurae Sitter. accompanied by James J. Haiston Jr. The processional will be a guitar solo composed by Thomas J. Haiston.
