Cletus Vos, 63 years old, member of a prominent Antioch family, died Tuesday, May 9, in Burlington Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Wis;, after a six-week illness.
Mr. Vos was born Feb. 8, 1904, in Burlington, where he, lived until he moved to Antioch in 1927 to become associated with the Antioch Lumber & Coal Co. He was also a director of the Lake Villa Lumber yards until his retirement.
He married Ruby E. Murdock on Oct. 27, 1926, at Dover, Wis. He was a member of St. Peter's Church of Antioch and the Holy Name Society of that church. He was also a member of St. Peter of Antioch Council Knights of Columbus 3800.
Mr. Vos served for several years on the Antioch Village Board and was a member of the Antioch Fire Dept.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; two sons, Jack Vos of Antioch and David, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Jean Irving, Mrs. Marvin (Shirley) Toepper, Mrs. James (Ann) Kreiger, all of Antioch, and Miss Sue Vos, at home; two brothers, Roman B. Vos and Edmund F. Vos, both of Antioch; three. Sisters, Mrs. Marie, Szydlowski, Burlington; Mrs. Szydlowsko, Burlington; Mrs. Elizabeth Oldenberg, Burlington, and Mrs. Lucille Fieereisen, Manitowish Waters, Wis.
Twelve grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 12, at the Strang Funeral Home to St. Peter's Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Antioch. Friends may call at the Strang Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Thursday. Parish prayers will be recited at the funeral home Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
