Charles Schemmer, aged 41 years at Burlington at 11:15 Saturday night, after an illness of several months. He was born Aug. 19, 1872 and leaves a wife, son, father, mother, three brothers and four sisters. The brothers are Frank of Hill, Ia., Fredelia of Blair, Neb.; Philip of Chicago. His sisters are Theodorene of Chicago, Reineria of St. Paul, Mrs. Wm. Gill, Mrs. Frank Miller and Dora Schemmer of Burlington.

Up to four years ago deceased was in his father's store, buying out the latter's interest at that time. He served three terms as alderman of Burlington and at the time of his death was a member of the fire and police commission and foreman of hose company No. 3. Decedent was a members of the following lodges: St. Eustathuis, Teutonia, Catholic Order of Foresters. The funeral will occur Wednesday morning from St. Mary's church.

Editor's Note : Aside from other obvious misspellings, the name Schemmer was spelled Schimmer throughout the article.
