A quiet wedding took place at St. Mary's Catholic church in this city Wednesday morning when Miss Dora Schemmer became the bride of Al Plate. The wedding was performed in the presence of a few relatives and friends. Henry J. Heiderman attended the groom while Mrs. William Gill, a sister of the bride, attended her. They left Wednesday afternoon for a short honeymoon trip through Wisconsin and Illinois, and will return to this city tonight.

Mrs. Dora Schemmer Plate
Mrs. Albert Plate died at St. Joseph's hospital, Milwaukee early Thursday morning, April 29. She was the former Dora Schemmer of this city.
The body will be in state at the McCarthy funeral home in Burlington until sometime Friday when it will be taken to Milwaukee where Rev. Mark Mueller, a nephew of Mrs. Plate, will read a requiem mass at St. Ann's Catholic church, Saturday morning. The body will be returned to Burlington for burial in St. Mary's cemetery.
Dora Schemmer was born in Burlington, April 4, 1879, the daughter of Frank and Mary Schemmer. Her early life was spent in Burlington, where she received her education. On Nov. 8, 1914, she was married to Albert Plate in Burlington. They made their home in this city for four years and in 1918 moved to Milwaukee which has since been their home. Mr. Plate died two years ago. Mrs. Plate was an active member of St. Ann's parish and at the time of her death was president of the Christian Mother Society at that church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Teresa McLaughlin, Milwaukee; five step-children, Fran and Albert Plate, Mrs. Cornelia Harding, Mrs. Loretta Holtzhauer and Mrs. Dorothy Neusinger, all of Milwaukee; one grandchild; one brother, Phillip Schemmer, Chicago and four sisters, Sister M. Theodrin, S. S. N. D., Chicago, Mrs. John L. McCarthy, Burlington, Mrs. Frank Mueller, Milwaukee and Sister M. Raineria, S. S. N. D., Green Bay.
