Frank H. Schulte, 68, died early Tuesday morning at his home on College avenue, after long illness. He was city treasurer of Racine in 1891, and a long member of St. Mary's church, the Knights of Columbus, and other societies and organizations.
When Mr. Schulte was a young man, he one or the original members of the Schulte brother's band.
He was born Sept. 24, 1860, and received his early education in Racine's parochial and public schools. At the age of 17 years, he commenced his apprenticeship in the Racine Silverplate company, where he was employed until the factory was destroyed by the great Racine fire.
After that, he went to Rockford and Aurora Silverplate works, remaining there until he accepted the superintendency of the Acme Silverplate company at Toronto, Can.
In 1889, he returned to Racine, where two years later he was elected city treasurer.
He established the Schulte clothing company in 1893, in which business he was actively engaged until 1921, when he retired due to failing health.
On Jan. 7, 1886, he was united in marriage to Josephine A. Schemmer who survives him, together with one daughter, Freda, and two sons, Roman and Frank. He survived by three grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth and Pauline of California and four brothers Theodore, Henry, Joseph and John Schulte of Racine.

All of his life Mr. Schulte had been prominently identified with movements calculated to improve the welfare of his city and community, friends declared today. It was said of him that he had never refused to lend a helping hand and by his own conduct had helped to inspire others.
