Location : St. Mary's Cemetery, Burlington, WI
Funeral services were held this morning for one of Burlington's young business men, Urban Schemmer, whose death of heart trouble Monday evening came as a shock to the community.
Mr. Schemmer was 34 years of age, having been born in this city on November 25, 1898, the son of Charles Schemmer and Mary Rossmiller. He had spent most of his life in this community, and was married last fall to Miss Myrta Custer whose home is near Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Death occurred at 7:30 Monday evening and came very unexpectedly, Mr. Schemmer having been in apparently good health up to the time of his death. Dr. J. Henry Goebel, Racine county's new coroner, was called, this being his first call to Burlington since taking over his duties as coroner. He reported death due to a heart ailment of long standing.
Besides his wife, Mr. Schemmer is survived by the following aunts and uncles: Mrs. Margaret Forge, Henry Rossmiller of this city; John Rossmiller of Racine; George Rossmiller of Elroy; Mrs. Wm. F. Gill, Mrs. Frank Mueller of this city; Mrs. Al. Plate of Milwaukee; Philip Schemmer of Chicago; Fred Schemmer of South Dakota; Sister Theodorin of Chicago, and Sister Ranieria of Green Bay.
Funeral services were held from St. Mary's Catholic church this morning with the Rev. Father Kersting officiating. Interment was in the Schemmer lot in St. Mary's cemetery.
