Mrs. Louisa Schemmer, 87, died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. H. M. Richards, 215 E. 24th street, South Sioux City. She had resided in South Sioux City the last eight years.
Mrs. Schemmer was born June 7, 1863, in Holland. She came to the United States as a young woman and first resided at Bonesteel, S. D.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Baptist church at Bonesteel. Burial will be in the Bonesteel cemetery. The Becker home for funerals in South Sioux City has charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schemmer was baptized in the Reformed Church of Holland. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Surviving are two other daughters besides Mrs. Richards, Mrs. Stanely Day of rescott, Ariz., and Mrs. Charles Helsing of Bonesteel; three sons, Jake of Winner, S. D., Fred of Prescott and C. H., of Washington, D. C.; three sisters, Mrs. Albert Burgry of Yankton, S. D., Mrs. Maggie Verberugh of Platte, S. D., and Mrs. Anna Faul of Gregory, S. D.; a brother, Tim Fenenga of Dixon, S. D., 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
