Jacob Schemmer Rites at Winner
WINNER
Funeral services for Jacob Schemmer, were July 5 at the Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Richard McGinnis officiating. Burial was in the Winner cemetery.
Mr. Schemmer, retired rancher, died July 2 at the local hospital. He was born Feb. 4, 1895, near Bonesteel. He worked as a foreman for the Mule Head Ranch of Bonesteel.
He served two terms 1941 and 1943 in the state house of representatives. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, Winner Elks Lodge, VFW and American Legion and served for about 25 years on the Carter Township board and school board.
Survivors include his widow, Clara, Winner; a daughter, Mrs. Brian (Dorothy) Fenenga, Winner; a brother, Fred, Prescott, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Ben Olguin, San Bernardino, Calif.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
