Clinton W. Schemmer, 78, of Bloomington, formerly of Patricksburg died Tuesday at his son's residence in Bloomington.
He was born Aug 20, 1920, in Spencer, Neb. He worked in the U.S. Air Force food exchange services and attended the Lutheran Church in Patricksburg. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Clay City.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Goddard and Susan Dewitt, both of Louisville, Ky.; one step-daughter, Patricia Smetzer of Winchester; one son, Jeff Schemmer of Bloomington; three stepsons, Jack Martin of Tennessee, Kenneth Martin of Owen County and William Martin of Bowling Green; one sister, Emmy Lou Wolff of Cuba, N.Y.; one brother, Benjamin of Schemmer of Naples, Fla; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Smith Schemmer, in 1995; his second wife, Mary Jarboe Martin Schemmer, in 1998; one son, Clinton Schemmer, and one brother, Fred Schemmer.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Dan Smetzer officiating. Burial will be at Chambersville Cemetery.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. until services Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW in Clay City.
